  • Israel and Turkey have been locking heads for some time, especially in Syria following the fall of the Assad regime in 2024.
  • Turkey has officially requested an Interpol Red Notice against Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, which if approved would call for his arrest across the globe.
  • Rhetoric has escalated between the two leaders, with Netanyahu calling Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan an "antisemitic dictator," and Erdoğan calling Israel "war addicted."
  • Israel bombed a Syrian air base in August, which Turkish troops were supposedly about to join.
  • Turkey has also signed a defense agreement with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, and analysts believe Syria could eventually join too.
  • The two conflicting nations are both allies of the US, however, and in the past the Trump administration has stepped in to keep the peace.

  • Polymarket's own wording: "This market will resolve to 'Yes' if there is a military encounter between the military forces of Israel and Turkey by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET."
  • A qualifying "military encounter" is direct force between the two countries' own militaries - missile strikes, artillery fire, an exchange of gunfire, or intentional ship ramming causing significant damage. Warning shots, strikes into uninhabited areas, or missiles that land in territorial waters or merely pass through airspace do not count.
  • Proxy activity doesn't count either - Israeli strikes on Syrian territory, even ones aimed at deterring a Turkish deployment, are not a direct Israel-Turkey clash unless Turkish forces are actually engaged.
  • No matching Kalshi market currently exists for this question, so this page is Polymarket-only.
