Will Enes Kanter Freedom Be Drafted in the 2027 WNBA Draft?

Retired NBA center Enes Kanter Freedom declared his eligibility for the 2027 WNBA Draft in early August.
He has been very vocal about his opposition to trans athletes playing in women's sports and has framed it as a test of the WNBA's eligibility rules.
Another retired NBA player Royce White has joined Freedom in declaring his own eligibility for the draft.
The league has not yet confirmed one way or the other as to their eligibility, while the player's union asserted that it won't be "used as political pawns."
Polymarket had "Yes" at around 30% after Kanter declared his eligbility but that has since settled to a much more modest price.

How This Resolves

Polymarket's own wording: "This market will resolve to 'Yes' if Enes Kanter Freedom is drafted in the 2027 WNBA Draft. Otherwise, this market will resolve to 'No.'"
If the 2027 WNBA Draft is cancelled, postponed past May 1, 2027, or the result can't be confirmed by then, this resolves No.
Resolution source is official WNBA/team announcements, or a consensus of credible reporting if those aren't available.

Update: Polymarket archived this market on Aug 20, 2026, well before the 2027 WNBA Draft, without giving a reason. Per Polymarket's own explanation, an archived market is resolved automatically by one of three outcomes -- a full refund to all positions, a 50-50 split resolution, or the market reopening at a later date -- with no action required from position holders.
