Enes Kanter Freedom attended a WNBA game between the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever over the weekend, and the Fever's 113-90 win wasn't the only thing making the headlines in the aftermath. Freedom, who is protesting trans participation in the women's basketball league, was kicked out of the game.
Footage of the moment has been shared widely on social media. Freedom found himself in a verbal altercation with Chicago's Natasha Cloud just after she scored late in the third quarter. Security stepped in to eject Freedom, who was wearing a tshirt that displayed the definition of woman as an "adult human female."

In a post to X shortly after the incident, Freedom said he "just got kicked out of a WNBA game for supporting WOMEN!"
It's fair to say Freedom is ruffling a few feathers at the moment thanks to his decision to declare himself eligible for the 2027 WNBA draft. Along with fellow former NBA player Royce White, Freedom is protesting against the WNBA's eligibility rules regarding trans participation.
Notably, the WNBA's Collective Bargaining Agreement states "only players who are women are eligible," with no further definition of "woman" and no public policy on transgender/intersex eligibility.
Indiana Fever Forward Sophie Cunningham has also spoken openly about her opposition to trans participation in the league. And supposedly, the altercation between Freedom and Cloud on Sunday night related directly to her.
Freedom explained that he was ejected after celebrating a three from Cunningham. "Sophie Cunningham shot a three, and I put my hands up to celebrate. Literally, a couple of possessions later, Natasha came back and started screaming and yelling and said, 'She's not gonna sleep with you.'"
Polymarket recently archived its market for Freedom to be drafted for the WNBA in 2027, which at one point was as high as 31%. Now, the site is offering a market for any former NBA player to be drafted. The price is currently 5%.
