Jack Lowden Being "Seriously Considered" for New James Bond: Odds Surge to 31%

No Time to Die, the last James Bond movie in which Daniel Craig gave his final performance as the English spy, was released in 2021. Since then, the debate over who will be the next actor (or even actress) to take on the popular role has been a turbulent one.

That has shown in the prediction markets, in which the front runner has changed several times in the past 12 months alone, with American Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Englishman Callum Turner, and Scot Jack Lowden the clear three favorites.

That race took another major turn recently thanks to UK radio presenter and TV host Richard Osman. Speaking on his The Rest Is Entertainment podcast, Osman said he had heard a very strong rumor the Slow Horses actor was being "strongly considered."

The name I've heard is Jack Lowden.

Osman said: "Someone told me for definite who the new Bond is the other day, but I mean that's happened before. The name I've heard is Jack Lowden." The Pointless co-host was quick to caveat the point though, saying: "It is definitively not a 'he's definitely got it' thing. He is definitely being seriously considered."

The odds shifted significantly in Lowden's favor as the news spread. Kalshi now has Lowden as 31% favorite to suit up as Bond next, with Turner trailing behind at 27%, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson now a long way off at 14%.

New Bond producer Amy Pascal suggested that the new Bond would be unveiled this year, and filming on the new installment would begin in 2027.
